I come from a long line of vets - from both the US and across the pond. One of my favorite relatives is my father's Uncle Phil. He flew in WWI in the Pacific realm. Phil's mother, my father's grandmother, was an amazingly bold and wild woman - and in this photo you see her at the young age of 70 or so after she convinced Phil to take her for a ride in one of his planes.

Gotta love a woman with such a sense of adventure. Makes me wonder a bit less why I am the way I am.
